A concept that translates light into movement
The concept for ams OSRAM translated the physical principle of the prism into an architectural idea: White light hits the prism and unfolds into its individual colours – a powerful image for the potential that lies in holistic use of light. In keeping with the motto ‘Sense the power of light’, the central prism element brings to life that which makes ams OSRAM unique.
The architectural centre of the concept is an oversized prism, which is an experience not only in terms of design but also functionally. Visitors interact with the structure: Their movements are detected by sensors, send a light signal into the prism – and trigger a colour spectrum on the opposite side. The moment of light refraction visualises how even the smallest impulses can produce a variety of results. This creates an intuitive connection between people and technology – a core element of the ams OSRAM brand.
